Part of John Wayne Gacy’s brain, 6 human skulls allegedly found inside home of stalking suspect

MADISON, Wis. (TCN) -- Police searching the home of a man accused of stalking a woman for 13 years allegedly found part of serial killer John Wayne Gacy’s brain in a jar.

On July 31, an unnamed woman contacted police and alleged a man she briefly dated in 2013 had spent the past 13 years stalking her, WJHG reports. She alleged Benjamin C. Larson sent her cards and letters over the years, and he filed complaints with professional licensing boards in several states when she did not respond to them.

The victim said she broke up with Larson after two months of dating when he allegedly called her and said he was holding a gun to his own head, the New York Post reports.

According to the outlet, he sent a card to her home address in 2025 and referred to her husband and child by name. Following the victim’s report to police in July, detectives executed a search warrant at Larson’s home on Aug. 14.

Inside Larson’s home, detectives allegedly found six human skulls, a padlocked bedroom containing a lifelike silicone doll of a woman, a box of the victim’s belongings, and handwritten journals in which Larson allegedly discussed his frustration over the victim’s marriage and family, WJHG reports.

One journal entry allegedly said, “It’s at times like this where I really ache to take their skulls, all of them.” Another allegedly said he had gone to her home one night dressed in black and carrying a machete.

In addition, detectives allegedly found a jar with a sign saying it contained part of Gacy’s brain, and a rubbing taken from serial killer Ed Gein’s grave. More information about items allegedly found in Larson’s home is detailed in the Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Department’s criminal complaint.

Larson was arrested and charged with one count of stalking and appeared in court on Aug. 22 in connection with the charge. He reportedly was released from jail after posting $8,500 bond, according to WLUK.

If convicted, he faces more than three years behind bars. An investigation into the origin of the skulls is underway, according to WJHG.

Larson allegedly told police that his therapist suggested the idea of making complaints about the victim to professional licensing boards.

District Attorney Eric Toney called the allegations “beyond disturbing.” The New York Post reports Larson is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11.

The investigation is ongoing.
