SAN JOSE, Calif. (TCN) -- A 46-year-old man who enticed teen boys to create child pornography for him to sell has pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of online child enticement and two counts of receiving child pornography and faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, Todd Baldwin was initially charged in November 2024.
Baldwin worked as an operations manager at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California, and became acquainted with some of the victims through his position. According to the U.S. attorney’s office, from October 2021 to August 2023, Baldwin paid four boys, ages 16 and 17, thousands of dollars to create child pornography images and videos, which he told them he would sell to buyers online. In addition, he collected dirty underwear and other clothing items from the boys to sell.
According to court documents obtained by KRON, Baldwin bought a ring light for the victims to improve the quality of the images and videos. He would reportedly sell the images and videos to buyers on Reddit and split the proceeds with the victims. One of the victims sent him images weekly, and in one of the images later found by law enforcement, one of the victims was nude inside a school office.
A search warrant executed at Baldwin’s home found several devices that contained child exploitation materials, including an image of a prepubescent boy engaging in sexual acts.
Baldwin was interviewed by San Jose Police Department detectives in 2023 and was fired by Valley Christian School once they learned about the investigation, according to KRON.
Baldwin pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of online child enticement and two counts of receiving child pornography on Sept. 22, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. He is currently out on bond, on home detention with electronic monitoring. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2027. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison.
