BRISTOL, Pa. (TCD) -- A 40-year-old woman faces charges after allegedly killing her husband on a public wharf in the midmorning hours this week.
According to a news release from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, on Tuesday, May 30, at approximately 10:53 a.m., Bristol Borough Police officers responded to the Bristol Borough Wharf at 1 Mill Street to a report of a shooting. The park was reportedly "occupied by multiple people" at the time.
Officers found Sammar Khan with bloody clothing and 38-year-old Faisal Iqbal on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds, the District Attorney’s Office said. The Bucks County Rescue Squad pronounced Iqbal dead at the scene, and officials recovered a gun nearby.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, multiple witnesses told detectives that they heard Khan and Iqbal talking loudly and a "pop sound" shortly after. Iqbal allegedly "stood up and began wrestling with Khan and additional gunshots were heard."
Afterward, Khan and Iqbal reportedly walked toward the parking lot area, where Iqbal asked a witness to call 911.
Khan then allegedly shot Iqbal two times, and he "collapsed in the grassy area between the water and the parking lot." While he was on the ground, Khan reportedly shot Iqbal two more times in the torso and once in the head.
According to the criminal complaint, Khan told police she and her husband were at the park to "discuss their relationship."
Khan was arraigned on multiple charges, including criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person. She was booked into the Bucks County Correctional Facility without bail.
