HOUSTON (TCD) -- A married English teacher at Langham Creek High School was arrested after allegedly sleeping with a 15-year-old student.
According to KPRC-TV, the 15-year-old male victim admitted to having sexual relations with 47-year-old Sarah Noel Suggs on Dec. 10, 2021, inside her car. Suggs and the victim reportedly started communicating via "Remind 101," an online service where students and teachers communicate. They exchanged personal numbers and started texting and using Snapchat, KPRC reports. Suggs allegedly sent the victim sexually explicit photos and videos of herself, and she would often ask him to meet up.
The boy reportedly told authorities Suggs messaged him nearly every day. According to KTRK-TV, Suggs also shared photos of her husband and family and would text the victim late on weekends.
According to KPRC, the victim was playing "Call of Duty" at his home with a friend on Dec. 10, when Suggs called. The teacher went over to his house and parked her family's minivan down the street, KPRC reports. The victim and his friend reportedly entered her vehicle, and Suggs dropped off the friend. Afterward, Suggs and the victim allegedly engaged in sexual acts in the car.
The teen's mother reportedly questioned him when he came home. Overnight, KPRC reports the mother took her son's phone and found text messages between the teacher and the teen. The teen allegedly admitted to his mother that he and the teacher were sexually involved.
The 15-year-old victim's parents told the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Police Department about the teacher and revealed text messages and photos of two bruises on the victim's neck, often referred to as "hickies."
Suggs was reportedly arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child under 17 years of age.
Suggs, who had been employed with the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District since 2005, was placed on administrative leave. She reportedly resigned on Jan. 10.
According to KPRC, the school district said, "As soon as the campus became aware of the serious allegation of an improper relationship between Sarah Suggs (a former staff member) and a student, Ms. Suggs was immediately removed from campus, placed on administrative leave, and law enforcement conducted a full investigation. Ms. Suggs resigned on 1-10-2022. These actions are intolerable and not representative of the staff at Langham Creek High School or CFISD employee standards of conduct."
