ST. LOUIS (TCD) -- An 18-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly tied an 8-year-old girl and her mother to a bed and killed them. He was also suspected of killing another woman hours earlier.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced August 12 that Prinshun McClain was arrested by Granite City Police in Granite City, Illinois. According to St. Louis Police, McClain was being held in Illinois on unrelated charges. Court records show McClain was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, and one count of first-degree robbery.
According to KMOV-TV, on August 11 at approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to a call on the 4200 block of Pleasant Street when a woman called to report her daughter and granddaughter were dead. The victims were identified as Terri Bankhead, 27, and Da’Nilya, 8.
KSDK-TV reports Bankhead’s mother found them inside the 27-year-old’s home. They were reportedly tied with rope and shot several times.
KSDK reports investigators believe McClain could be connected to another murder that occurred the night before Terri and Da’Nilya were killed. Twenty-six-year-old Tori Manisco was killed in south St. Louis and was reportedly found on her front porch on the 1100 block of Dover Place at around 5:45 a.m.
According to KMOV, McClain was allegedly Terri and Da’Nilya’s downstairs neighbor.
