70-year-old Washington man accused of fatally shooting 46-year-old girlfriend

OROVILLE, Wash. (TCD) -- A 70-year-old man was recently arrested after allegedly fatally shooting his 46-year-old girlfriend.
According to a press release from the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, April 16, at approximately 8:16 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Westlake Road. At the scene, authorities reportedly found a deceased female in the home along with two males.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies checked the home to make sure it was safe. Medics reportedly entered the residence and confirmed that the female victim, later identified as Siri Zosel, was dead.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s boyfriend, Roy Rasmussen, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was reportedly interviewed by detectives and admitted to shooting his girlfriend. Rasmussen was booked into the Okanogan County Corrections Center, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Upon further investigation, the Sheriff’s Office says a friend of Zosel’s became concerned when she had not heard from her. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the friend went over to her home, and Rasmussen "appeared defensive to her."
After visiting the home, the friend reportedly told her husband about what had happened, and he was able to get inside the home, where he saw Zosel lying on the floor. Rasmussen reportedly told the friend’s husband that Zosel had been dead for approximately two days.
