South Carolina couple accused of extensive child abuse against infant

WALTERBORO, S.C. (TCD) -- The parents of an infant were arrested Wednesday, Jan. 26, for alleged extensive child abuse.
According to a press release from the Walterboro Police Department, officers responded to Colleton County Medical Center on Nov. 11, 2021, on a report of possible child abuse. An infant victim was reportedly brought into the center for a possible head injury. Police say the infant had other injuries "consistent with some type of abuse." The victim was reportedly examined for further evaluation and "placed into emergency protective custody."
According to police, detectives were able to confirm that the victim suffered child abuse, and an investigation was launched.
Upon further investigation, police say the parents of the victim, 21-year-old Janie Morris and 21-year-old Trenton Fail, were arrested and both charged with unlawful conduct of a minor. They were reportedly booked into the Colleton County Detention Center.
