MEMPHIS, Tenn. (TCD) -- Two males, including a 15-year-old, were recently indicted in the shooting death of a pastor during a carjacking.
On July 18, 2022, Memphis Police responded to a report of a shooting on Whitehaven Lane, where they found Autura Eason-Williams in the driveway of her home suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Video footage reportedly revealed suspects driving off in the victim’s vehicle following the shooting, and her car was found shortly before 8:30 p.m.
According to a news release from the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 15-year-old Miguel Andrade and 21-year-old Eduard Rodriguez-Tabora were indicted by a grand jury on two counts of first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery in connection with Eason-Williams’ shooting death.
Rodriguez-Tabora remains in custody on $1 million bond, while Andrade posted his $200,000 bond.
The District Attorney’s Office previously announced in October 2022 that Andrade would be tried as an adult.
Eason-Williams, who worked as the district superintendent for the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church, leaves behind four children and a spouse.
