FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ala. (TCD) -- A 39-year-old father was arrested after allegedly beating his 14-year-old daughter for telling her mother about a suspected affair between her father and someone else.
On Nov. 7, Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 100 Town and Country Trailer Park near Russellville, Alabama, to a "report of a father beating his daughter," the Sheriff’s Office announced. Upon their arrival, deputies reportedly noticed "broken beer bottles outside, items that had been recently cut up, a broken Nintendo Switch, and blood droplets outside the mobile home door."
Deputies forced entry into the home, where they noticed a broken TV, crushed laptops, kitchen supplies, dissembled children’s furniture, and scattered clothes, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, Christopher Andrighetti, was allegedly found hiding in a bedroom closet covered in blood from self-inflicted lacerations.
Deputies reportedly searched for two child victims and located a 14-year-old girl. She said she had told her mother about Andrighetti’s social media account and that she suspected her father was having an affair, the Sheriff’s Office said. When the 14-year-old girl’s father found out, he allegedly began to "violently beat her."
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect struck his daughter "with his fist, a shower curtain rod, a piece of wood, shoved her to the floor, slapped her, and threw items including glass bottles at her."
After beating her, Andrighetti allegedly told his daughter to clean up the area. When the daughter went to get trash bags, she reportedly ran out the front door to call for help.
The victim was transported to the hospital to treat her injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Andrighetti was reportedly arrested and faces multiple charges, including first-degree domestic violence, assault, and child abuse. He remains held in the Franklin County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
