Long Beach Police plead for public’s help in solving murder of mother, young daughter

Long Beach Police Homicide Sgt. Robert Woods asks for the public's help for clues in the close-range fatal shooting of Long Beach mother Carina Mancera, 26, and her 4-year-old daughter Jennabel Anaya.
The mother and daughter were gunned down around 10:20 p.m. near East Ninth Street and Locust Avenue as they were returning home from the grocery store on August 6, KTLA reports. The killer opened fire on the pair at close range before shooting at 27-year-old Luis Anaya, Mancera's longtime boyfriend and the little girl's father, Long Beach Police Homicide Sgt. Robert Woods said.
Mancera sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Jennabel was pronounced dead early the following morning at a hospital.
A $40,000 reward is being offered for information in the case.
