Alabama man convicted of raping 18-month-old child

MOBILE, Ala. (TCD) -- A 26-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury convicted him of 15 counts, including rape and sodomy.
On Feb. 16, the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office announced Cody Lee Bush was found guilty of eight counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, five counts of dissemination of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age, first-degree rape of a child under 7 years old, and first-degree sodomy of a child under 7 years old.
District Attorney Keith Blackwood said the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case showed Bush’s "truly despicable acts to the jury, proving his overwhelming guilt."
Blackwood added, "What we presented in court was hard to see and hard to hear. We are thankful the jury saw the truth."
According to WBRC-TV, Bush’s victim was 18 months old.
The District Attorney’s Office said Bush will be sentenced March 20 to life in prison without parole.
