Homeless woman wanted for allegedly stabbing her grandparents in North Carolina

THOMASVILLE, N.C. (TCD) -- Police are searching for a 32-year-old woman accused of stabbing her elderly grandparents this week.
On Tuesday, July 4, at approximately 3:44 a.m., the Thomasville Police Department responded to the 700 block of Burgin Street to a report of a stabbing. At the scene, officers found a 73-year-old female and a 75-year-old disabled male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victims are reportedly married.
According to police, the two victims were eventually transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and are currently listed in stable condition.
Police identified Kristin Billings, the victims’ granddaughter, as the primary suspect. She allegedly hid her grandparents’ cellphones before fleeing the scene on foot.
Detectives with the Thomasville Police Department charged Billings with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of interfering with 911 communication.
According to police, Billings is homeless.
Police have asked anyone with information regarding Billings’ whereabouts to come forward.
