Pennsylvania father accused of violently shaking his 2-month-old son to death

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (TCD) -- A father has been charged following an investigation into the death of his 2-month-old son.
According to WPMT-TV, on May 10, 2021, officers from the Susquehanna Township Police Department responded to the 500 block of Latshmere Drive to a report of an unresponsive 2-month-old child. The victim was reportedly transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
WPMT reports an autopsy performed on May 11, 2021, confirmed the child suffered a focal hemorrhage and petechial hemorrhages to the lungs, left eye, heart, and thymus. Authorities told WPMT they believe the child died from asphyxiation shortly after a violent shaking episode.
Upon further investigation, police reportedly learned the child’s father, Fonte Dupree Carrier, was the primary caretaker.
According to a press release from the Susquehanna Township Police Department, on March 11, 2022, Carrier was charged with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of children. He was reportedly arraigned April 5 and remains held at Dauphin County Prison without bail.
According to WPMT, Carrier’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28.
