LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (TCD) --
A man was arrested and taken into custody Wednesday after allegedly attacking his kids and brother with a machete, then refusing to surrender to law enforcement agents.
According to WHNT-TV, someone called 911 at 7:11 a.m. regarding the attack. The suspect, Kyle Seeley, is accused of attacking three children under the age of 10 as well as his brother with a machete at his home on Country Road 57. He was charged with six counts of attempted murder.
WHNT reports two of the children and Seeley's brother were airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, for treatment. The injuries were reportedly not life-threatening, though they were serious.
WAAY-TV reports Seeley barricaded himself in a shed behind his house for almost four hours. SWAT officers responded on the scene, but Seeley allegedly did not communicate with them. They fired tear gas into the shed to get Seeley to exit. He ran out through a back exit, jumped a fence, and made his way into a pasture before getting stopped.
After he was apprehended, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office posted a photo of Seeley on social media with his hands behind his back being escorted by two SWAT officers.
According to WAAY, Seeley has a dozen warrants out for his arrest on other charges.
He was booked into Lauderdale County Detention Center and was being held on $360,000 bond.
