QUEENS, N.Y. (TCD) -- A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his brother and mother after his brother’s body was found wrapped in garbage bags on the sidewalk.
According to WPIX-TV, on Wednesday, July 5, at approximately 2 p.m., NYPD officers were called to 104th Street in the Corona neighborhood of Queens and found an unconscious man inside a garbage bag. He reportedly had a puncture wound in his back and was declared dead at the scene.
Then, about 12 hours later, police reportedly found a 58-year-old woman deceased inside a residence on the same block, NBC New York reports. Investigators reportedly believe Roscoe Danielson killed his 31-year-old brother, Kyle Danielson, wrapped his body in the bags, and left it outside.
Surveillance footage shared by the New York Daily News shows a man dragging a large object on the ground and leaving it with other trash bags a few houses down. Police told the New York Daily News the mother, Cheryl Myrick, was shot and stabbed.
Autopsies are still pending to determine the cause and manner of death.
One of the residents on the block told the New York Daily News, "When I came outside to see what was going on, I smelled a very bad smell. A smell that I couldn’t even describe with my own words."
Police arrested Danielson on charges of concealment of a corpse, weapons possession, endangering the welfare of a child, and other counts.
Myrick’s brother, Andre Myrick, told the New York Daily News, "She was beautiful and young. All she did was work, take care of her children, and help my mother. That’s it."
