Las Vegas man arrested after human remains found in barrel

LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- A 43-year-old man was arrested after the remains of a missing victim were recently discovered.
According to a news release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, on the afternoon of Nov. 29, officers responded to an area near Palm Street and East Quail Avenue. At the scene, authorities reportedly found human remains in a barrel, and a homicide investigation was launched.
Police said the victim was reported missing on Nov. 3. Upon further investigation, detectives reportedly identified Ryan Bentley as a suspect in the victim’s death.
Bentley was taken into custody on Tuesday, Nov. 29, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with the use of a deadly weapon.
According to police, the Clark County Coroner’s Office will positively identify the victim as well as the cause and manner of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
