XENIA, Ohio (WXIX) -- Skeletal remains found over the weekend have been identified as those of 46-year-old Cheryl Coker, a Riverside woman missing since October 2018, the Greene County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Officials said a man reported finding the remains in Caesarcreek Township while he was hunting mushrooms.
The county coroner said tests were planned as part of the effort to determine a cause of death. Riverside Police called her disappearance suspicious and opened a homicide investigation.
Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Waynesville Jamestown Road on Saturday around 5:30 p.m., where the bones were recovered, WHIO reports.
Search warrants were executed in February 2020 in the Cheryl Coker homicide investigation, Riverside police said, a year after Cheryl's husband Bill Coker was named a suspect in her case. Bill Coker has not been charged.
