Former Louisiana deputy accused of killing wife and infant child

MONROE, La. (TCD) -- A former correctional center deputy was arrested Sunday in connection to the deaths of his wife and infant child.
According to KNOE-TV, the two victims were found dead on the 3900 block of Old Sterlington Road following a double homicide report at 1:35 p.m. Twenty-six-year-old Blake Bardwell was arrested at the scene on two counts of second-degree murder of his spouse and child, KNOE reports.
He was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center and later brought to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. A bond has not yet been set.
According to KTVE/KARD-TV, Bardwell had been employed as a deputy at the Ouachita Correctional Center since December 2019, but he was terminated the day of the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
