FOUNTAIN, Colo. (TCD) -- A 31-year-old woman who had sex with a 13-year-old and later became pregnant with his child pleaded guilty to a related charge and will not spend any additional time in jail.
Fountain Police Department officers arrested Andrea Serrano on July 5, 2022, after learning she had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old, and booked her into custody on charges of sexual assault on a child by one in position of trust, and sexual assault on a child.
Serrano was reportedly a "mother figure" to the teen, and the two spent multiple nights together at her home, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. She told detectives the teen previously called her "mom." She became pregnant with the teen’s child and gave birth.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports Serrano pleaded guilty to incest. She must register as a sex offender for life and faces 10 years to life on sex offender probation.
Serrano posted her $70,000 bond and has been caring for the infant since her release.
KKTV-TV reports the victim’s mother is fighting for her son to gain custody of the baby.
