WELLESLEY, Mass. (TCD) -- A 44-year-old former high school lacrosse coach was arrested after allegedly editing children's faces onto child sexual abuse material.
According to WCVB-TV, the Massachusetts State Police received a tip from the National Centers for Missing and Exploited Children and started surveilling Ryan Cook’s home and Internet use. They reportedly found multiple child pornography images in his possession.
Police reportedly executed a search warrant at Cook's home on Aug. 30, where they seized electronic devices for evidence. In the images, the children were allegedly between the ages of 5 and 11 years old.
State police told WCVB, "In some of these images, the children were posed in a sexual provocative way and/or were being sexually assaulted."
Investigators also reportedly found images of photoshopped females placed over the child porn images. According to WCVB, the photoshopped images allegedly depicted two female children from his neighborhood.
Cook was reportedly arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. He was eventually released on $10,000 bail, Mass Live reports. However, prosecutors requested that Cook's bail be set at $100,000.
Cook was reportedly a volunteer high school boy's lacrosse coach with Wellesley Public Schools.
In a statement obtained by WCVB, the district said, "Wellesley Public Schools is aware that a Wellesley resident, who had previously served as a volunteer with our WHS Boy’s Lacrosse team, has been charged with possession of child pornography by the Massachusetts State Police."
Cook is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 30.
