80-year-old stabbing suspect stopped by shovel in Washington mobile home attack

LYNNWOOD, Wash. (TCD) --
An 80-year-old man was arrested Monday after getting into an altercation with an employee at a mobile home park and allegedly stabbing the woman multiple times.
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded Monday at 11:27 a.m. to a stabbing on the 14300 block of Admiralty Way. The sheriff's office said the 80-year-old suspect, who lives at the location, stabbed the 61-year-old victim multiple times.

KCPQ-TV reported the suspect lived at the mobile home park and the stabbing occurred at the Serene Terrace Mobile Home Park clubhouse.
According to officials, a second woman intervened and hit the suspect with a shovel, thwarting the attack.
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said the victim was expected to survive after being transported to Harborview Medical Center.
The suspect, who officials did not name, was first taken to Providence Regional Medical Center. He was then booked in the Snohomish County Jail and charged with two counts of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon.
KIRO-TV reports the 80-year-old man got into a dispute with the manager of the park over a fence he built, according to a resident at the park.
A woman who lives across the road came and hit the man with a shovel during the altercation.
