8-year-old Fla. boy allegedly choked, cut foster child’s throat with knife

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (TCD) -- An 8-year-old boy was taken into custody after he allegedly attacked his foster brother by choking him and cutting his neck with a kitchen knife.
According to the affidavit cited by WESH-TV, the incident allegedly occurred Saturday, March 11, at a residence in Lake County. The 8-year-old reportedly started choking the foster child but freed him when the victim said he was not able to breathe. Then, the 8-year-old reportedly found a kitchen knife and cut the boy’s throat.
The 8-year-old’s friend reportedly took the knife away from him, and he said he wanted to "kill everyone."
WOFL-TV, which also cites the affidavit, reports the 8-year-old allegedly tried to go after the victim with a stick, but other friends and children stopped him. According to WOFL, the boy went back inside the residence to look for another knife.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the scene and took the boy into custody on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery by strangulation, and aggravated assault. The boy allegedly kicked a deputy in the stomach while he was being arrested, according to Inside Lake.
The suspect reportedly has a history of violence.
Inside Lake reports the boy was transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
