WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (TCD) -- A 26-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after stabbing his female roommate 109 times in 2021.
On July 13, 2021, Walton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Troon Drive in Sandestin and found a victim deceased with multiple stab wounds, the department announced.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Storm Thayer and subsequently took him into custody.
In February 2022, Thayer was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of first-degree premeditated murder, the Sheriff’s Office said.
In December 2022, Thayer pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and he was sentenced to life in prison this week for the fatal stabbing, WMBB-TV reports.
Before the stabbing, Thayer had reportedly been sent to prison several times since 2014 for burglary, grand theft, aggravated battery, and child abuse. According to the Sheriff’s Office, in March 2021, he was released from prison after serving time for child abuse.
