BATON ROUGE, La. (TCD) -- A 14-year-old girl was taken into custody after she allegedly tried using a website to hire a hit man to kill her ex-boyfriend.
Baton Rouge Police announced they arrested the teen on Valentine’s Day "for soliciting to have her 14-year-old ex-boyfriend killed." The suspect allegedly tried using a website called "Rentahitman.com," but someone on the website contacted authorities.
Sgt. L’Jean McKneely told WAFB-TV, "We conducted an investigation on it, and through the course of our investigation, we learned that information was indeed placed on the website. We made contact with the 14-year-old girl and then arrested her for soliciting to kill the ex-boyfriend."
According to a report by KGO-TV, the RentaHitman site has prevented several murders because its founder Bob Innes will send credible requests to law enforcement.
Innes said, "The website has prevented, essentially, 150 murders at this point."
WVLA-TV reports the teen’s mother bonded her out of jail. A judge has reportedly ordered a psychological exam for her.
