A 20-year-old Texas man is charged with capital murder in the Saturday night stabbing death of his 7-year-old brother, Haltom City Police said Sunday.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing Saturday about 9:45 p.m. at a residence in the 4900 block of Orien St. Officers found 7-year-old Jacob Gabriel Brito at the scene with multiple stab wounds. The boy was transported to Cook Children's Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers at the scene of the crime located the boy's 20-year-old brother, Isidro Brito Bruno, at the intersection of Katrine St. and Katrine Ct. The older brother had a self-inflicted wound to his upper body, according to police. He was hospitalized at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Isidro Brito Bruno was later charged with capital murder and held in the Tarrant County Jail on $250,000 bond. Police did not determine a motive for the alleged attack.
