Material witness in Iowa homicide case reportedly found dead

DES MOINES, Iowa (TCD) -- A material witness in connection with the death of a Des Moines Public Schools employee was reportedly found dead.
According to a news release from the Des Moines Police Department, on Dec. 12, officers performed a welfare check at a home, where they found Natasha Williams deceased. Several days later, on Dec. 16, police said they obtained a material witness warrant for Scott Lowery.
Lowery reportedly had critical information that would help investigators solve the case. Police asked for the public's help in finding Lowery and identified his vehicle.
On Monday, Dec. 26, police said Lowery was found dead in a garage in the 400 block of Fulton Drive. A handgun was reportedly recovered from the scene, and his death is being investigated as a suicide.
The investigation into both deaths is ongoing. Police did not say how Williams died.
