GAINESVILLE, Ga. (TCD) -- A 31-year-old man has been taken into custody following the fatal stabbing of his wife, who was also a mother of four.
According to a news release from the Gainesville Police Department, on April 15, officers performed a welfare check at Spring Valley Apartments, where they found 32-year-old Casey Allen deceased from apparent stab wounds.
Police identified Christopher Snow as the primary suspect and located him in Gwinnett County, where he was involved in a serious vehicle crash on I-85. He was hospitalized and later booked into the Hall County Jail on April 19 on charges of felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and a probation violation. He remains held without bond.
The victim's sister told WXIA-TV Snow and Allen had just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary Friday, April 14 — one day before she was found dead.
In a statement, Police Chief Jay Parrish said, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Casey and her children. Sadly, multiple families have been impacted by this horrific event. As an agency, we will continue to support the families, even long after the investigation is complete."
