BROWNSBURG, Ind. (TCD) -- A 31-year-old man stands accused of attacking his 59-year-old mother and stabbing her in the head this week.
On Monday, April 24, at approximately 12:23 p.m., the Brownsburg Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Midnight Pass to a report of a stabbing, where officers discovered Susan Early lying on the ground in the front yard. Neighbors assisted Early, who had suffered multiple stab wounds and "still had a large kitchen knife protruding from her head" when police arrived.
Early reportedly told officers that her son, Kyle Braun, had "attacked and beaten her in the kitchen of her home." Neighbors advised police that Braun had fled the scene on foot and indicated his direction of travel. Following a short search, police found Braun and took him into custody without incident.
Early was transported to Eskanazi Hospital in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery.
Braun was reportedly hospitalized for "superficial wounds to his hand," but he was later released and booked into the Hendricks County Jail on charges of attempted murder and two counts of battery by bodily waste on an officer. He remains held without bond.
