Texas mother killed in shootout while reportedly helping her daughter get ready for prom

DALLAS (TCD) -- A 39-year-old innocent bystander was reportedly killed in a shootout between people in two different vehicles over the weekend.
According to a news release from the Dallas Police Department, on Saturday, May 13, at approximately 4:05 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of North Masters Drive to a report of a shooting. At the scene, four people had reportedly been shot and were transported to local hospitals.
Police said an innocent bystander, Ana Moreno, died from her injuries. The other three victims, all males, remain in critical condition.
Upon further investigation, police learned the shootout occurred between suspects in two vehicles on eastbound Bruton Road when one bullet struck Moreno’s vehicle and hit her.
Family members told KXAS-TV that Moreno was driving her daughter Amy to get her hair done and pick up her prom dress at the time of the shooting.
Police have not yet identified any suspects or made any arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
