CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (TCD) -- A 51-year-old woman is in custody after allegedly striking her 59-year-old boyfriend with her vehicle, killing him over the weekend.
On Saturday, May 20, at approximately 8:38 a.m., the Casa Grande Police Department responded to the 600 block of West Saguaro Street to a report of a person who was hit by a car. Upon their arrival, police found the victim, Billy Stephens, lying near the road suffering from severe trauma. His girlfriend, Shelly Shears, was reportedly near the victim at the scene.
Stephens was airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital, where he died from his wounds.
