6-year-old Arkansas boy’s body reportedly found buried under hallway floor

LEE COUNTY, Ark. (TCD) -- A 28-year-old woman and 33-year-old man have been arrested after a young boy’s body was reportedly found buried under the floor in a home.
According to a statement, on Dec. 16 at 10:45 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office called in Arkansas State Police to assist in investigating a case near Marianna, Arkansas. Detectives reportedly discovered a 6-year-old boy’s body buried below a hallway floor. Arkansas State Police believe he has been dead for about three months.
A 6-year-old girl reportedly also lived in the home and suffered likely burn injuries to her scalp.
Arkansas State Police announced they arrested Ashley Roland and Nathan Bridges on charges of capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Roland is reportedly the children’s mother.
According to the statement, investigators believe the 6-year-old boy "died from injuries sustained in the home." The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the boy’s cause and manner of death.
Arkansas State Police said the 6-year-old girl was transported to a hospital in Memphis, where she is in stable condition.
