OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) -- A Louisiana mom has been charged with murder in the death of her baby.
Ouachita Parish deputies responded to a call of a 9-month-old child not breathing on March 12, 2020, in the 1100 block of Evergreen Street.
A witness told investigators that he found Heather Hall, 28, sleeping in bed with her three children. He told investigators that Hall's legs were on top of the baby and the baby was not breathing, records state. Court records state that Heather then woke up, grabbed the child and ran into the kitchen where she dropped the baby on the floor and another witness began performing CPR.
Authorities say Hall admitted to using meth on March 10 and admitted to using Ecstasy prior to going to sleep in the same bed as her three small children. Records state that Hall said she awoke to find her child dead at the end of the bed.
Authorities say Hall tested positive for marijuana, meth, Ecstasy and amphetamines.
Hall was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder.
