WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (TCD) -- A 59-year-old woman will spend the rest of her life behind bars after pleading guilty last week to charges related to the death and dismemberment of her husband.
According to a news release from the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, on May 4, Bonnie Vaughan pleaded guilty to murder, tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse. Warren County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Peeler sentenced her to life in prison.
On Sept. 19, 2022, Vaughan fatally shot Jeffrey Fellman numerous times inside their garage on Stone Path Drive. The next day, her daughter's 34-year-old boyfriend, John Havens, walked into the Middleton Division of Police and told officials Vaughan shot her husband, and he dismembered the body.
During an interview, Havens reportedly said Vaughan picked him up at his home after killing her husband, asked him for his help, and he dismembered the body with a handsaw.
According to the Attorney's Office, officers responded to the home on Stone Path Drive and located Fellman's remains inside a trash can within the garage. Vaughan reportedly fled the scene but was eventually located and taken into custody.
On May 4, Havens pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse, the Attorney's Office said. He will be sentenced at a later date.
