GREEN BAY, Wis. (TCD) -- A 24-year-old woman faces murder and other charges after police say she had sex with a man and then decapitated and dismembered his body into several pieces.
On Feb. 23, Green Bay Police Chief Christopher Davis spoke at a press conference and said officers responded to a suspicious death investigation on the 800 block of Stony Brook Lane that day at about 3:25 a.m. The victim was identified only as a 25-year-old Green Bay resident, and Davis said the victim did not live at the address, but "associated with people who live there."
Investigators later went to the 2300 block of Eastman Avenue and took a person of interest into custody. Davis said he believes the victim and person of interest knew each other.
New details about the man’s death have since emerged, including charges against the suspect, Taylor Schabusiness. Brown County Jail records indicate she was booked on charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, third-degree sexual assault, and resisting or obstructing an officer. Her bond is set at $2 million cash.
According to court documents cited by WBAY-TV, a woman at the Stony Brook Lane residence woke up to the sound of a door slamming sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., and when she went downstairs, she found her son’s head in a bucket.
Police spoke with Schabusiness because she was reportedly the last person seen with the victim. They searched her van and allegedly found a crock pot box with "additional human body parts including legs." She reportedly had blood on her clothing as well. Police reportedly obtained a search warrant for the Stony Brook Lane home and found the victim’s head and a "male organ" in the bucket. Investigators also located the victim’s torso in a storage tote.
Schabusiness reportedly told investigators she and the victim took meth earlier in the day and had sex with chains involved. WISN-TV, which also cites court records, says Schabusiness reportedly explained she started choking the victim during sex. The criminal complaint reads, "Schabusiness stated she just went 'crazy,' referring to strangling the victim."
She reportedly said she "could feel the victim’s heart beating still as she was choking him, so she kept pulling and choking him harder, but the Victim would not die and that he just kept 'rebuilding into muscle.'"
Schabusiness allegedly used a chain to choke him. She allegedly committed sexual acts with the victim’s body after his death, according to WISN.
WBAY reports Schabusiness said she enjoyed choking the man even though she did not mean to kill him. She reportedly used a bread knife and other knives from the kitchen to dismember the body.
According to the complaint, "Schabusiness stated the plan was for her to bring all of the body parts with her but she got lazy and only ended up putting the leg/foot in the van and she forgot the head."
