Alabama grandmother accused of hitting infant’s head against wall

GADSDEN, Ala. (TCD) -- A 75-year-old woman allegedly hit her infant granddaughter’s head against a wall in February.
According to Alabama.com, Wanda Lee Crouch’s 4-month-old grandchild suffered a fracture after the incident, which is believed to have happened between Feb. 18 and Feb. 19.
According to WBMA-TV, the Gadsden Police Department received a report from the Department of Human Resources expressing concern about the well-being of the female infant, who was living with Crouch.
Upon further investigation, Crouch was reportedly arrested and booked into the Etowah County Jail on Tuesday, March 1, with bond set at $100,000. According to records, Crouch was charged with aggravated child abuse.
After being evaluated at a hospital, the infant was placed in the custody of the Department of Human Resources, Alabama.com reports.
