HOUSTON (TCD) -- A search is underway after a 55-year-old man allegedly fatally shot his ex-wife and fled the scene.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Lorenzo White broke into his ex-wife’s home on the 9100 block of Saint Laurent and shot her multiple times on Monday, June 6. Gonzalez said authorities believe the shooting stems from domestic violence. The victim was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim’s 16-year-old son — White’s former stepson — was the one to call authorities, KPRC-TV reports.
After allegedly fatally shooting his ex, White fled in a Nissan Frontier. He is believed to be armed and dangerous, according to Gonzalez.
Sgt. Jason Brown with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told KPRC, "We know the husband has been in contact with family members. He has admitted to the shooting, so he is familiar with what is going on."
According to KPRC, White has a criminal past dating back to 1977, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
