Utah mother allegedly kidnaps 4-year-old son before court-ordered custody exchange

SOUTH OGDEN, Utah (TCD) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a 37-year-old mother who allegedly kidnapped her 4-year-old son prior to a court-ordered custody exchange.
According to a press release from the South Ogden Police Department, on Monday, April 4, officers responded to 5756 S. Maplewood Drive for the custody exchange. Police say officers were ordered to remove 4-year-old Wyatt Pearce from the custody of his mother, Taryn Pearce, and grant the father custody.
Police say the mother fled the scene with the child. An arrest warrant was reportedly issued for the mother on a first-degree child kidnapping charge.
According to police, on the night of April 4, the mother, Wyatt, and a boyfriend stayed at a hotel and checked out at around 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5.
Police say the boyfriend has been interviewed.
According to police, Taryn is described as a white female standing at 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and weighing 120 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. Her son is reportedly described as a white juvenile standing at 3 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighing 40 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.
Police do not believe Wyatt is in danger, so an Amber Alert was not issued.
