HOUSTON (TCD) -- A 19-year-old accused of throwing a flammable substance on a couple and lighting them on fire was arrested on murder and other charges.
Montgomery County Jail records show Emma Presler was booked August 26 — weeks after her alleged crime.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to 2046 Aspen Glade Drive at approximately 10 p.m. on August 6 for an arson call. One of the victims, 33-year-old Devin Graham, reportedly told police a woman "entered the residence and poured an unknown substance on him and lit him on fire."
Another victim, Karissa Lindros, 26, was also burned as a result, according to Houston Police.
Graham and Lindros were both transported to a hospital via Life Flight with "severe burns" and in critical condition. Graham later died from his injuries, police said.
Lindros' mother told KTRK-TV Lindros and Graham had two young daughters.
Houston Police identified Presler as the suspect and said in their statement they charged her with murder in Montgomery County. According to KTRK, Presler was apprehended in Waller County on Thursday.
KTRK reported in 2020 Presler was arrested after a 20-year-old with cerebral palsy was shot and killed while in bed. A judge, however, reportedly did not find probable cause to charge Presler with the murder.
