CHANDLER, Ariz. (TCD) -- A 38-year-old man allegedly fatally shot his 41-year-old wife and their unborn child before taking his own life in front of police officers earlier this week.
On Wednesday, May 31, at approximately 1 a.m., the Chandler Police Department responded to the 3900 block of West Monterey Street after receiving a call from an "uncooperative" and intoxicated male who refused to provide an address. Family members also called law enforcement to report an "unknown incident" at the apartment, and they identified the male as Kevin Holmberg. Soon after that, officers received information that the victim, Katherine Holmberg, was in danger. Chandler Police said Kevin Holmberg "fatally shot himself while still outside and in view of the officers."
Afterward, police searched the residence and located Katherine Holmberg deceased from a gunshot wound. Her unborn child also died as a result of the shooting.
