INDIANAPOLIS (TCD) -- A 22-year-old mother was arrested in North Carolina as law enforcement officials in several states continue to search for a missing 2-year-old Oklahoma girl.
According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, 2-year-old Oaklee Snow was last seen Jan. 19, in Cromwell, Oklahoma, with her mother, Madison Marshall. Police believe they traveled from Oklahoma to Indianapolis.
The Oklahoman reports Marshall also brought Oaklee’s 7-month-old brother and her boyfriend, Roan Waters, with her to Indiana. The boy had reportedly been abandoned and was picked up by Child Protective Services and handed over to his father, Zachary Snow. Harnett County Jail records show Marshall was located March 23 in North Carolina and taken into custody.
In early March, Waters was arrested in Colorado on an outstanding warrant for child abuse and other charges in an unrelated case. According to an affidavit cited by The Oklahoman, Waters told investigators the four of them drove to Indianapolis in his car and went to a "trap house" to use drugs. Waters and Marshall allegedly opted to take Oaklee with them and abandon the infant.
Seminole County Sheriff’s Office investigator J.T. Palmer told KFOR-TV witnesses saw Oaklee at the "crack house" Feb. 9.
Palmer said, "They described it as she was either asleep or unconscious. She wasn’t moving. She was wrapped in a blanket."
According to KFOR, Marshall reportedly said she was taking Oaklee to the hospital, but Palmer said, "We have no knowledge of where she’s at, we just know that she did not make it to the hospital that night."
There are reportedly no records of Oaklee being checked in at any hospitals.
KFOR reports Marshall and Waters allegedly left the infant on the couch inside the "crack house."
Oaklee’s father told KFOR, "I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. I’ve been on my phone day in, day out. I mean, you know, contacting and trying to find somebody that might know where she’s at."
