2 suspected sex workers accused in death of Ga. father who was found dead in rug

BATON ROUGE, La. (TCD) -- One suspected sex worker is in custody while another is still wanted in connection with the death of a Georgia man who was found wrapped in plastic and rolled into a rug.

Nathan Millard’s body was found this month on the 2900 block of Scenic Highway, but investigators did not suspect foul play. Officials later determined Millard overdosed and died in a drug house, WBRZ-TV reports.

On March 13, Baton Rouge Police first arrested Derrick Perkins in connection with the case. Perkins, an alleged drug dealer, was reportedly charged with dumping Millard’s body and using his debit card.

During an interview, WBRZ reports that Perkins told police he picked up Millard and two other individuals on Feb. 23, and they were all seeking drugs. Millard and the two others allegedly drove around with Perkins and got high on crack cocaine for hours.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by WBRZ, Perkins said Millard went into a gas station to withdraw cash, and then he allegedly told Perkins he wanted a "white girl" and "to go somewhere safe."

Perkins and Millard reportedly sought out a suspected sex worker named Tiffany Ann Guidry, and they went to a house after getting cash from an ATM.

WBRZ reports that Perkins said Millard requested more "white girls," and they sought out another alleged sex worker named Tabbetha Barner.

Perkins reportedly told police that Millard and the two women started using drugs through a syringe, and he later went to a store to pick up some items using Millard’s credit card. Upon his return, Perkins allegedly waited outside the home until the three were done engaging in sexual activity.

Perkins reportedly said the three requested more drugs, and when he came back, Barner told him Millard was dead.

According to WBRZ, Perkins told authorities they tried to perform lifesaving measures, including the use of Narcan, as well as CPR, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Guidry and Perkins allegedly rolled Millard’s body up in a rug, placed it into a car, and disposed of the body at a vacant lot, where his remains were later found.

Afterward, Perkins reportedly sold the car, which was later found burned.

Perkins reportedly told police he believed Barner gave Millard the drug that caused his death.

In an interview, WBRZ reports that Barner denied meeting Millard and said Perkins was the one who asked for the Narcan. Barner allegedly saw Perkins using Millard’s card at a store on Highland Road, and she went with him and Guidry to "get her fix."

On March 23, the Baton Rouge Police Department announced arrest warrants against Barner for prostitution and failure to seek assistance and warrants against Guidry for unlawful disposal of human remains, prostitution, and failure to seek assistance.

According to WBRZ, Guidry was arrested on Friday, March 24.
