SLIDELL, La. (TCD) -- A 42-year-old woman was arrested after police detectives allegedly found methamphetamine and puppies in her ice cream truck.
On Monday, Feb. 27, Slidell Police said their narcotics detectives noticed a "blue-colored ice cream truck with an expired license plate and no brake lights on Old Spanish Trail."
Detectives previously learned the owner was allegedly "using and selling meth from the truck."
Authorities reportedly performed a traffic stop on the ice cream truck, and upon searching the vehicle, they found "melted ice cream in the freezer, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia."
Additionally, police said they found two small puppies, but they were taken into custody and are currently safe with Slidell Animal Control.
The owner of the ice cream truck, Tamisha Morin, was reportedly arrested for possession of narcotics, along with an outstanding warrant and multiple traffic violations. Police said her truck, "Tami’s Ice Cream & Sweet Treats," was impounded.
Police do not believe any children were exposed to meth, "as the ice cream truck has been out of commission for several months."
