New York teen accused of having sex with 11-year-old girl

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (TCD) -- A 19-year-old Long Island resident was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an underage girl.
According to the Suffolk Daily Voice, Southampton Police took Kelvin Mayen-Vasquez into custody on Thursday, May 19, after he allegedly had sex with an 11-year-old for nearly a year. Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph reportedly said they received allegations that Mayen-Vasquez had a "romantic interest" in the juvenile.
WPIX-TV reports Mayen-Vasquez and the girl reportedly had a sexual relationship starting in March 2021 and ending in May 2022.
Mayen-Vasquez was booked into the Suffolk County Jail on charges of course of sexual conduct against a child, possessing sexual performance by a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. Records show he is scheduled to appear in court May 31.
