FLORENCE, Ala. (TCD) -- A 57-year-old woman pleaded guilty this week to killing her ex-husband in 2019 and planning the killing along with their son.
According to WHNT-TV, Peggy Sue Hall entered the plea Thursday, Dec. 22, for a count of capital murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in connection with the death of her ex, Randall Steve Bobo. Her son, Randall Coty Bobo, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.
WHNT reports Coty Bobo will spend 20 years behind bars but is eligible for time served because he has been incarcerated since September 2019. According to WAFF-TV, Coty Bobo will be released in 21 months because of a split sentence.
Randall Steve Bobo was shot and killed Sept. 18, 2019.
WAFF reports Hall killed her ex-husband after Coty Bobo asked her to because he was angry at him. Coty Bobo reportedly stole his father’s truck in 2019 and was arrested in connection with that. He allegedly got upset about the charges, so while behind bars, he reportedly worked with his mother to have Randall Steve Bobo killed.
Randall Steve Bobo reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly told WHNT, "The capital murder charge is a burglary in the first degree, which means she entered a dwelling with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill somebody."
Two of Randall Steve Bobo’s grandchildren were reportedly at home when he was shot and killed.
