CHICAGO (TCD) -- A missing 22-year-old college student was found dead last week in Lake Michigan while her boyfriend has still not been located.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said Natally Brookson's body was located near the 5500 block of North Sheridan Road on May 2. She was reported missing days earlier on April 30 after she was last seen leaving her work on the 5500 block of North Maplewood Avenue. She was positively identified days later.
Around this same time, Brookson's boyfriend Daniel Sotelo was also reported missing. Chicago Police said the 26-year-old was last seen April 29 on the 1700 block of South Racine. According to NBC Chicago, Brookson was a senior studying psychology at University of Illinois Chicago. Sotelo is reportedly a grad student at the same university.
Sotelo's family has been conducting search parties as they continue to look for him.
Natally's friends described her as "selfless, loving, and incredibly talented" and "one of the sweetest and kindest people" on a GoFundMe page for funeral costs.
