South Carolina man allegedly stabbed his 72-year-old mother more than 20 times

MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (TCN) -- A man allegedly stabbed his mother nearly two dozen times at her home over the weekend.
According to an Aug. 17 news release from the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office, a family member discovered the 72-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds. Investigators responded to the residence and processed the scene.
Per WBTW-TV, the victim had been stabbed more than 20 times. As of Monday, Aug. 18, she remained hospitalized for her life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office announced that the victim’s son, Raymond Prichard, was arrested on Aug. 17. He faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and was denied bond.
