Missing Illinois nursing student reportedly found smothered to death in her car

CHICAGO (TCD) -- A 20-year-old woman who was last seen Jan. 23 was found dead this week in her car in the city’s Austin neighborhood.
The Forest View Police Department and Illinois State Police activated an endangered missing person advisory following Charisma Ehresman’s disappearance. The advisory says she was "missing under suspicious circumstances," and notes she left her home on the 4600 block of South Wisconsin in Forest View on Jan. 23 at 10:17 p.m. in her 2014 red Ford Fiesta. She reportedly missed work and had no contact with her family.
According to WLS-TV, Chicago Police confirmed Friday, Jan. 28, that Ehresman’s body was located in the back of a car on the 5900 block of West Iowa Street. She was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner determined she died by smothering and strangulation, WLS reports.
Ehresman was enrolled in classes at Triton College, and she had hoped to become a nurse, WFLD-TV reports. Her father Jeffrey Ehresman told WFLD his family is in "complete and utter shock."
He said, "We knew the second she went missing something was wrong because she doesn’t go missing. This isn’t the girl that runs away when she’s upset or spends days at a guy’s house and doesn’t tell anybody."
Jeffrey also described his daughter as "the person that everybody calls when they were down."
No arrests have been made yet in Charisma’s death. The investigation remains ongoing.
