RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (TCD) -- A 59-year-old man was arrested and charged after the remains of two missing people were reportedly found in an unincorporated town.
According to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, on Feb. 18, 31-year-old Angel Ponce was reported missing by family members. Several days later, on Feb. 23, 31-year-old Danielle Ricker was also reported missing. The two lived together in Temecula, but the Sheriff’s Office did not release specific details about their relationship.
The Sheriff’s Office said, "Evidence suggested they were deceased."
On Feb. 27, investigators reportedly executed a search warrant at David Floyd’s home on Galleron Street, and he was arrested in connection with the victims’ deaths.
The victims’ remains were found after Floyd’s arrest on March 2, near East Benton and Sage roads in the unincorporated town of Hemet.
Floyd faces charges of first-degree murder, violating a domestic violence court order, and possession of a firearm while being prohibited from doing so due to a restraining order, records show. He remains held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 14.
According to Patch, in November 2021, Floyd was charged with battery on a spouse/partner against Ricker and was sentenced to 36 months of probation. He was also reportedly ordered not to contact Ricker and had to pay her restitution.
The Sheriff’s Office did not specify the relationship between Ricker and Floyd.
