Mass. woman allegedly attacks deputies with beehives while protesting an eviction

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (TCD) -- A 55-year-old woman is accused of using bees to attack deputies while protesting an eviction.
According to the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, on Oct. 12 at 9:15 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Civil Process Division went to 49 Memery Lane to enforce a court-ordered eviction. Rorie Susan Woods of Hadley, Massachusetts, reportedly drove her Nissan SUV with a flatbed trailer attached to it and parked it in the driveway as law enforcement officials arrived. She allegedly "quickly jumped out of her SUV and started trying to unleash thousand of bees in manufactured hives as a deputy jumped onboard and tried to stop her."
Woods reportedly hit the top of one hive tower, which caused several bees to escape. The deputy who tried to stop her sustained several stings to his face and head. She then allegedly flipped the hive tower over and off the flatbed, and bees swarmed the entire area.
Several Sheriff’s Department deputies were stung.
Woods, who was reportedly wearing a beekeeper suit, allegedly moved another hive closer to the door of the building. Deputies arrested her, and she reportedly told another person who was out protesting to take care of her dog, who was "unfed, and left in the SUV with thousands of bees swarming outside of it."
The Hampden County Sheriff’s Department said Woods "does not live in the Longmeadow home, which has been in various stages of the eviction process for around two years."
She was reportedly at the Memery Lane building trying to stop the court-ordered eviction from taking place.
One deputy was reportedly hospitalized from the bee stings and "thousands" of honeybees were killed. Another told Woods that he and others were allergic, and she allegedly said, "Oh, you’re allergic? Good."
The bank is reportedly in possession of 49 Memery Lane, a 22-room home.
According to the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Woods is facing seven felonies and one misdemeanor. She was arraigned and released without needing to post bail.
