NASHVILLE, Tenn. (TCD) -- A 30-year-old Houston man who reportedly raps about stealing money was one of four people taken into custody for allegedly robbing an ATM.
According to Nashville Police, on June 6, two of the four suspects robbed an ATM technician outside a Bank of America at 645 Thompson Lane. They reportedly told the technician "to not do anything stupid and hand over the money."
During their investigation, Nashville Police Department detectives determined the suspects had two getaway cars: a Hyundai Elantra and a Jeep. The Hyundai had reportedly been rented from Hertz, and detectives were therefore able to locate the two vehicles at a Motel 6 in Dickinson.
Detectives reportedly saw money being loaded into the Jeep and Dickinson Police pulled it over as it was turning onto the street.
Darius Dugas, 27, Sashondre Dugas, 32, Christopher Alton, 27, and Ladesion Riley, 30, were all arrested with assistance from the Nashville Police Department and FBI. Photos provided by the Nashville Police Department show tags of money recovered in the trunk.
In April, Riley, who goes by the rap name 213 Jugg god, released a music video that outlines essentially what he and the other three suspects attempted to do — rob an ATM.
On June 7, the Houston Police Officers' Union tweeted, "IRONY: When you make a rap song called 'Make It Home', about bank jugging and hitting atm’s out of state, and then don’t make it home..."
According to Nashville Police, the FBI is investigating whether the suspects committed similar crimes elsewhere.
